In October 2006, we opened our one of a kind state of the art dance studio in West Mobile, Alabama to approximately 200 students, a bit larger than anticipated! We are currently the home to approximately 500 students and we are proud to serve the greater Mobile, Alabama area.
Our family friendly location is conveniently located in West Mobile off Schillinger Road-one mile south of the Cottage Hill/Schillinger intersection. Our facility is on par with the top studios in the country such as Broadway Dance Center, Alvin Ailey, and School of American Ballet and is unique in Mobile. Broadway South has one of the most versatile and fascinating staff in the Gulf Coast area. Our faculty has been seen on ESPN, ABC, MTV, Oxygen, Style Network, and TLC. Our staff has trained at top schools such as Joffrey Ballet, New York City Ballet, Steps, Broadway Dance Center, Alvin Ailey, Gus Giordano, Debbie Renyolds School, and Tisch School of The Arts. Performances of our staff includes appearances with Paula Abdul, Chita Rivera, Ben Vereen, Liza Minelli, Debbie Allen, Mia Michaels, Sonya Tayeh, Suzanne Farell, and Whoopie Goldberg, to name a few and our talented faculty has danced on stages that span the world. Our vast knowledge of all areas of dance will provide your dancer a solid foundation in the dance arts.
Our students credits include Julliard Dance Major, “So You Think You Can Dance”, Tap Kids, New York Rockettes, ABC Family’s hit “Bunheads”, NYC’s hit “Iluminate”, Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders, and many of Broadway South’s students have gone on to become Dixie Darlings at Southern Miss.
Our students have also had the honor of performing in The Dizzy Feet Foundation Gala 2014 under direction of Mandy Moore and have been recipients of NYCDA Scholarship Foundation and also top 10 Finalists at NYCDA Nationals and Top 20 at The Dance Awards. Many alumni have become scholarship dance majors at prestigious programs as well as being invited to study with top programs such as Joffrey, North Carolina School of the Arts, Houston Ballet, Miami Ballet and the International Ballet.
Other Broadway South student credits include performances on Broadway in NYC, Alvin Ailey, numerous appearances on television and music videos along world tours with top music artists, Disneyworld “Ariel” and dance roles at Disney, The Ellen Show, touring company for Hollywood Vibe Dance Conventions and Tremaine Apprentice Programs, ME Marshall Ellis Dance Company, ABC Tv’s “Nashville” and “Walk The Line”, just to name a few. Our students can also be seen gracing the catalogs of Purple Pixies Dancewear, CC Rags, and Glamour Costumes Our students have received top scholarships to Broadway Dance Center, The Edge, and Millenium in Los Angeles.
